Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you use this website. There are no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and no cookies are set.
1. Controller
The controller for data processing on this website is:
Tobias Nösel (sole proprietor)
Nieschlagstraße 10
30449 Hannover
Germany
Phone: +49 155 66873600
Email: info@freelanceboosters.com
Full provider details are in the Legal Notice.
2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Hostinger. For customers in the European Union the provider is Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. When you open this website, the host processes technically necessary connection data to deliver the pages and to ensure security: IP address, date and time, requested page, amount of data transferred, and information about your browser and operating system (server log files). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation). The data is deleted according to the hosting provider's retention periods.
The host processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. For transfers to countries outside the European Economic Area without an adequacy decision, the provider relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). More information is in Hostinger's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
3. Speed test
The speed test only runs after you click "Start speed test". Your browser then connects directly to the public speed-test servers of Cloudflare, Inc. (speed.cloudflare.com) to measure latency, download speed and upload speed. Cloudflare receives your IP address and the technical data of these requests, as any website does, and processes it under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab). This may involve a transfer to the United States; according to its policy, Cloudflare relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (you asked for the test) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We do not receive or store your IP address or your results through the test. The test transfers real data, so check your data allowance before running it on a metered connection.
4. Cookies and browser storage
This website sets no cookies and uses no advertising, analytics or social media tools. On your first visit a banner called "Your privacy choices" explains this and lets you choose. Your browser's local storage is used as follows:
- Essential (always on): a small record of your choice (key
isp-consent, kept for 12 months). It is not used to track you. - Optional, off until you allow it ("Remember my preferences"): your light/dark theme (key
isp-theme) and your progress in the switching checklist (keyisp-check-switch), so they are there on your next visit.
If you choose "Essential only", theme and checklist work during your visit but are not stored and are gone when you reload. Everything stays on your device and is never sent to us. Legal basis for the optional storage: your consent (section 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); for the choice record: section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with effect for the future via "Your Privacy Choices" in the footer of every page; withdrawing deletes the stored values. Speed-test results are kept only in the memory of the open page and disappear when you close or reload it.
5. External links and services
This website does not load fonts, scripts, analytics, maps or social media content from third parties. Provider links and other links lead to external websites; data such as your IP address is processed there only after you click them. The privacy notices of those providers apply. The links carry no tracking or affiliate parameters.
6. Getting in touch
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details (for example name, email address, content of your message) to handle and answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (interest in answering requests). The data is deleted once your request is settled and no statutory retention duties apply. We do not pass it on to third parties unless required by law or necessary to enforce legal claims.
7. Your rights
Within the legal requirements you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You may object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21) and withdraw consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany. For questions about your rights please use the details on the Contact page.
8. US state privacy rights (California and others)
This section applies to residents of US states with consumer privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA), to the extent those laws apply to this website.
- What we collect: technical connection data (identifiers such as your IP address, and internet activity such as the pages you request) in the hosting server logs described in section 2, and the details you send us if you contact us. We do not knowingly collect anything else. We keep server logs only for security and operation, as long as the host's retention periods allow.
- We do not sell or share personal information. We do not sell it, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We have no advertising or analytics partners, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track: we honor GPC signals as an opt-out of sale and sharing. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing further to opt out of, and the banner says so when a signal is detected. We do not respond differently to the older Do Not Track browser setting, because we do not track you across websites.
- Your rights: to know what personal information we hold about you, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. To make a request, email us at info@freelanceboosters.com or use the Contact page. We may need to verify your identity, for example by matching details you give us with those in your request, and we will answer within 45 days. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf.
- Your Privacy Choices: use the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer to open the privacy banner and change your choice about remembering your preferences.
- Children: this website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
We may update this section when the law or our practices change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
